Michael Wilkerson

Michael holds a B.A. in Political Science with university distinction and departmental honours from Stanford University and a M. Phil in Politics from Oxford University, where he was a Marshall Scholar
He started his career as a journalist in Kampala, Uganda where he has worked for several different companies and has a combined work experience of 10+ years in the country.
He co-founded Tugende in 2010, and he is the current CEO

Asiimwe is a Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) who holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science with honors from Makerere University.
He is a management information systems specialist with 10+ years of experience.
He has worked in several countries in Africa including Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Sudan

Rachael is a forward-thinking and result-oriented professional public accountant with an excellent track record coordinating audit, finance, and accounting processes of organization with a record of 9+ years.
Prior to joining Tugende in November 2021, Rachael worked at PKF Kenya LLP, Manohar Lall and Rai Certified Public Accountants
She holds an MBA, Finance and a BCom from the University of Nairobi

Uzairu brings over 15 years of experience having worked across 4 countries (3 of which in Africa).
Uzairu is a result driven Business, Finance and Governance expert with experience in Financial, Strategic and Risk Management and possesses a strong combination of skills in telecoms, retail, financial services and a passion for fintech and serving mass markets.
Uzairu serves as Tugende’s Group Head of Finance, taking responsibility for Finance and Corporate Finance, Business Optimisation and Excellence.
He joined Tugende in June 2023

Tadeo is a technology leader with over 12 years of experience in software engineering, data strategy, and cloud infrastructure.
He has developed and led over 100 web and mobile applications across the private sector, government, FinTechs, and NGOs in the East African region, driving innovation and scaling technology to align with business strategy.
Tadeo oversees Software Development, Innovations, IT Operations, Data & Business Intelligence, and Field Technical activities (Hardware), ensuring that technology is a key enabler of business growth and efficiency.
Tadeo holds a BSc in Software Engineering from Makerere University and is a certified programmer with Oracle and Microsoft. His passion for scalable, secure, and impactful technology solutions continues to drive Tugende’s digital transformation and operational excellence.

Mrs. S. Kushemererwa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Masters in HR Management from Makerere University.
She has 15+ years of experience in human resources administration
Prior to joining Tugende she worked at Taibah Group Companies. She was the HR manager at Movit Products Limited for 3 years. She also worked at Uganda Law Society as HR and Admin Manager
